New fast DIY steering mod for my ARD CER D11

A quick way to get more angle out of my steering ... I'm surprised myself that worked lol.. streetjam OTA-R31 steering and Square "steering extension" for TA05 VDF. Still needs some fine-tuning but already looks pretty good :)

And dont mind the huge ackerman, the front spur wasnt centered yet, so this is with like 1-2° toe out which i will not leave lol. Will post more pics later after setup and stress-testing.

Drift Meeting in Karlsruhe

The track:

My Yokomo RX-7 FC3S
(before total destruction - will post my progress to try and save this shell soon too)

Was a nice day overall and my setup is perfect now.
Went for stock ARD springs all around, changed my camber in the rear to -2° and front -5° and with my new steering system it just worked like a charm. Looked so real <3

R2 Hobbies Stealth Mounts

My R2 Hobby Stealth mounts came in the mail today
and now I can confirm that they will fit the ARD CER D11
without any modification or problems. Was suprised myself
how easy and well it fitted. You just need to run one of the
big and small spacers on the front and one small spacer on the back
on each side.

The Quality seems pretty good (perfect, considering it was less then 10€ for me).
Only chipped paint you will get is where the grub screws go, but you cant really
see these places anyway, so it doesn't really matter imo.

It is pretty solid and easily adjustible. Fits my JZX and
FC3S without much adjusting (just height and angle adjustment
which will take 1min max to change). Pretty awesome
product, would definately recommend!

Still many spare spacers and screws left.

CER D11R Steering Mod

Pretty parallel, dont let the caster fool you ;-)

CER D11R

finally finished the build with my new parts. Exuse the bad
quality of the pictures, I will take new ones with natural light tomorrow.
Some parts look so weird under flash-light.
Red screws from Square.
D-like steering crank and Yokomo tie rod ends
New red shafts from CER D08. Also more red screws ♥
New RC-art CVDs in the rear with 51mm.

new parts for the CER

 new Yokomo ballheads

spice medium-soft springs for the front

rc-art 51mm shafts and more yokomo ballheads lol

RC art compared to stock OTA-R31

while reassembling shafts, its a good
idea to also grease them again :)

awesome red screws♥

CER D08 red turnbuckles

and now i also put protective foil on top of the
carbon deck, to prevent my batteries to scratch
it (see VDF for bad example after a few hundred
runs)

ARD CER D11 OTA-R31 Steering mod + Countersteer

Finally got my new parts for the CER... Now I have higher CS-ratio (1.8CS) and better Steering (OTA-R31 suspension set).... Really like the new look and feel of the part, fits very well... can't wait to test drive it ;-)

The Destruction :D

First I had to disassamble nearly everything... but it didnt nearly took as much time as I thought it would.. the layout of the CER is much simpler then the one on my VDF... Only have to unscrew like 10 screws to remove the whole front bulkhead and engine mount...I like that :)

then I cleaned the front one way with WD-40. I already disassembled everything so I was like: "well, why not clean it when I'm at it".. runs a lot smoother now then before... I also shimmed the front oneway and the rear spool with spacers to reduce play. So far I really like the "new" feeling.. cant wait to get it on the track.
New pulleys... D-like 38T pulley for the one-way, 14T center one-way and Square 21T pulley for center-rear. Too bad I havent found a black Square pulley in stock, but this blue one will do for now.

OTA-R31 suspension set installed. I use it in the front and back to replace the kinda weird ARD CVDs which have (imo) bad aftermarket support in case you break something (like I did). I had to use quite a lot of spacer (from tamiya) but after all that work the reward was great. Much better steering concept from Streetjam IMO...only thing I'll eventually MAYBE change are the CVDs... Angle is great though, all the pictures here aren't even with maxed angle, but I haven't connected the servo rod yet, so it already "swings back" a bit when I took the photo (because of the caster)...

I run now:

~80% CS
a LOT of camber back and front (-10° would be my first guess) to fit the CVDs and my new VIP Drift car WIP :P
and finally lipos to reduce the weight even more.

I really can't wait for the next driftsession because I wanna see how it'll affect the chassis.

New parts for my CER D11

HPI JZX100 body and Eagle Racing brake discs.

D-like CS Pulleys, Xenon racing perfect pinion + spur gear, HPI light buckets for JZX100 and some shims and spacers from tamiya...

Damn, my car is really becoming a "bastard child" driftmonster with the best parts from every company......^_^
